I draw with charcoal to achieve a desired effect that renders detail characteristics of a subject's facial features with a softer finish and illustrative expression.

Internet graphic images do not provide the perfected quality and detail of the actual features included in the Charcoal Sketch.

Rendering from the photograph you provide, I sketch being certain there are pleasing contrasts in tone and shading to bring out detail characteristic depths.

Working with the right photograph is requisite to acquire the optimum representation and exposé.

Best results are rendered from photographs with a ¾ face view versus a profile or full frontal view.

It is especially important to see the persons eyes clearly for the reason the eyes bring out their personality.

The cost per gallery sketch varies depending upon the subject and detail. (Click here for prices).

All sketches are matted and ready for any 9"x12", 12”X14” or other specified size frame. You may request a sketch un-matted, if you prefer; however, it is not recommended.


Your personalized photo sketch pricing may be adjusted slightly based on the quality of your photograph that you submit; and, if you request specific sketch desires or a quick turn-a-round to complete your sketch.

As standard all sketches are matted and ready for any specified size frame of your choice.


Orders for more than one sketch are discounted and additional copies are at a minimun.

About Matted Sketches

I place a high quality original charcoal or pastel sketch between two layers of matte board cut to specified standard sizes.

The result is an original and unique beautiful work of art which can be positioned (if you wish) inside a frame of your choice and mounted to a wall, set upon a table or desk, or simply placed in any location that you can admire and appreciate your artwork originality.


All artwork sketch originals are coated with waterproof sealant.
